The Herat to Shindand railway is a significant segment of Afghanistan’s broader initiative to enhance its national railway infrastructure. This particular section spans approximately 120  kilometers and forms part of the larger 737.5 km Herat–Kandahar railway corridor, which aims to connect western and southern regions of the country.
